Each life that touches ours for good
Reflects thine own great mercy, Lord;
Thou sendest blessings from above
Thru words and deeds of those who love.
What greater gift dost thou bestow,
What greater goodness can we know
Than Christlike friends, whose gentle ways
Strengthen our faith, enrich our days.
When such a friend from us departs,
We hold forever in our hears.
A sweet and hallowed memory,
Bringing us nearer, Lord to thee.
For worthy friends whose lives proclaim
Devotion to the Savior's name,
Who bless our days with peace and love,
We praise thy goodness, Lord, above.
I pay tribute to a great friend, a devoted and dedicated husband, a loving and conscientious father, and a good soul who left us five years ago today. Dear Carol, Madison, Matt, Taylor and Tanner - may the Lord continue to bless and keep you safely in His arms for now, knowing with certainty that once again you will be in the arms of Jon.

Thanks, Vonnie, for your kind and moving tribute to Jon. He left too soon, but left such a good legacy for others to follow - one of goodness and devotion to family, church, and the better things in life.
Your post made me cry. I sure miss Jon, but i feel good knowing that he is safely home with our heavenly father helping Him watch over his sweet family that is still here on earth.

What a tender post. It's hard to imagine myself in Carols place. I truly admire and love her for the way she has continued living without her soul mate.

This made me all teary eyed. Tomorrow we are going to Carol's for the Survivor preview, and I told her we'll have to eat peanut butter and miracle whip sandwiches in honor of Jon.
