Yup, this is my life

I took a chance and gave birth to three of our four children
during football season.  Luckily, the stars
aligned and their father was present at their births.
No football games on those days.

Attending a BYU game at Ole Miss gave
me more respect for Southern women.  Wow!

This post is a shout out to my BYU loving husband.  May "his" team perform at least half as well as he expects.  Forever hopeful, forever optimistic, forever true Blue, forever a Cougar Board fan, that's my Rick.  Go BYU!  Kick off this Friday at 5:00!

Pardon the pun

Some people (a budding BYU student) will to anything to launch their acting career...too funny not to share. This is an actual commercial for a real product.  ( Pardon the crudeness.)

Loving me some Downton Abbey humor

I credit my daughter Claire for introducing me to Downton Abbey.  She started watching it right from the start and got me hooked early into season two. And the rest they say, is history.

Sledding down the hill...taken to the extreme!

Provo sledding at Rock Canyon park taken to the next level! (I'm surprised I don't see Andy in this video.)  Dangerous...very dangerous but it also looks like a lot of fun!

Face that fire, walk right through it!

I friend shared this song with me.  Haha, it's pretty good.  I'm not a big country fan, but there is a lot of truth to be found in most of the lyrics here.
"But the good news is there's angels everywhere out on the street.  Holdin out a hand to pull you back up on your feet."  So true!

If you’re going through hell, keep going.

Burley a-go-go

Who said they don't know how to have fun in the Burley-Rupert area? Here's proof...
My favorite is the old guy in the Minico Spartan's jacket. It's funny and very sweet.

Countdown to Christmas

Day #15

I'm speechless. I'm so proud. I never thought I'd have a child make it big in the MUSIC industry. I present...Lyrical Reparations...some white boys having fun. See if you can recognize a certain voice. I wonder if he'll make it big as a rapper??

If you want to follow this up and coming group, just like them here.

Countdown to Christmas

Day #9

Here's a little video and a shout out to the city of my birth, Rupert Idaho. It has the distinction of holding the copy right name of "Christmas City USA." It's a great effort and a fabulous tradition for a little town of less than 6,000 people to decorate and make the town shine. Merry Christmas (not season's greetings or happy holidays) from Rupert!

the upcoming Mrs. Jimmer Fredette

There are a lot of broken hearts out there. Why?? Fredette announced to his 53,971 followers on Twitter that he proposed to his longtime friend, BYU cheerleader Whitney Wonnacott.

"I'm officially engaged everyone," Fredette wrote. "She said yes and she was completely surprised! It was perfect!"

Think about it carefully Whitney.

The guy doesn't even have a job.

The worth of a Mother is...

immeasurable and never, never ending.

Before I was a Mom -

I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom -

I cleaned my house each day. I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom -

I had never been puked on - Pooped on - Spit on - Chewed on, or Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom -

I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests...or give shots...to do stitches. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom -

I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -

I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom -

I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

Before I was a Mom-

I didn't know that when those babies got older and moved out to homes and lives of their own, that I would still think of them each day and remember all the good times we shared when they were growing up in our home. They'll always be a part of our home, no matter where they live. They'll still be my babies.

And remember that behind every successful mother......

is a basket of dirty laundry.

Keeping Christmas well - Day 13

I received this link from Courtney. Good thing the birth of Christ didn't happen in this digital age.

A blast from the past

I came across these fashion planning sheets while cleaning out a closet. They were taped to the inside of the door and have been there since the '98-'99 fashion season. Overalls? Docs? I wonder who they belong to???

Never say never

September 2010 061

I said we would never let a puppy in the house. I may have to reconsider that statement and allow this little puppy named Skippy to come and visit!

All the rage - a parody

You've probably already seen these, but they are all the rage here on campus. Cleaver stuff!

You don't see that every day

Things have been entirely too serious around here.

This is the forth day Andy and I have been sitting around home going from the bed to the couches in the family room. I have bronchitis and an ear infection and he is suffering terribly with the shoulder surgery.

Check out these silly/funny Dorito ads created by some BYU students who had nothing better to do. Apparently they won some awards:

"The BYU Ad Lab has combined ferocious critters with Doritos-eating folks to win a Student Gold ADDY Award, one of the top advertising prizes awarded in the country for student work.

Students picked up their hardware Saturday in a ceremony in Orlando, Fla. The Ad Lab landed the ADDY for their creative work on an advertising campaign and commercial created for the Doritos “Crash the Super Bowl” contest."
