David & Pam

Last weekend we had a house full of company. I loved it! Rick's best friend David came to town for the blessing of his newest grand daughter. David was in our ward our freshman year at BYU and Rick and I met him all those years ago. He and Rick were later missionary companions in Peru. We've known and loved David for many, many years. We've been friends with his family and his five children as well. In fact, one year we DROVE to Dallas to spend Thanksgiving with David and his family. It was a LONG drive, but well worth the effort. David and Rick have been dear friends, brothers really.

David has two sons - Ryan (lives in South Jordan, finishing his BYU degree) and Corbin (serving in Guatemala) and three daughters - Jenny (lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children), Lindsey (lives in Kansas with her husband and three daughters) and Jordan (lives in San Diego - moving back to Dallas.) We love his children. All of Ryan's sisters were able to come to Utah and attend the blessing. Ryan lived with us for a semester after he got back from his mission to Peru. We enjoyed his company and friendship. He later married Jill and they have a darling new baby named Alexandria Joy who was blessed by her daddy last Sunday.

We had a taco feast after the BYU - U of U basketball game last Saturday night. Dave and Courtney stopped by to share a taco or two with us. Don't you LOVE Courtney's new hair cut? We cheered our hearts out and enjoyed the win over Utah very, very much. Claire and Rich were in town to visit Rich's family and we got to see them as well. We all went to the game and had a great time.

We loved meeting little Lexi and getting acquainted with her. We look forward to having Ryan and Jill come back and spend a weekend with us in a few weeks.

Another great part of this visit was getting to know Pam, David's new wife. They were married last summer in Oregon and David moved there to work and start his new life with Pam. She is delightful. We enjoyed spending many hours just visiting and sharing experiences. Pam is a great companion for David. She is outgoing, funny, beautiful, kind, grounded and she takes things in stride. She is easy to talk to and a great companion for David. We love her!!! We're so happy they found each other and wish them all the best. They deserve much happiness. We send our love to all you dear friends!

Great post, Vonnie. It was wonderful having David and Pam and the others here, and it is terrific to have such a wonderful relationship with them - just like family. Thanks for all the work you did to make the weekend so nice.
