Rick likes to say that his old mission friend "owns" the town he lives in. Actually, it's kinda true. Everyone knows him. He has a major business in the city and he even did radio ads for a number of years. He has a distinct voice and a funny personality. Everyone knows and loves Keith. While we were visiting a few weeks ago we went to lunch with Keith and his darling wife Lorie. We went to a place we all know and love (since we go there about every time we visit) call El Pinto. It has great southwestern food and we always enjoy the ambiance and traditional cooking they do there. It was a beautiful day to eat on the patio and enjoy a beautiful spring day. This time we got an added perk. We got to tour their green chile/salsa making plant to see how it's all done. The owners gave us all a complementary lunch (thanks to the Keith connection) and last time Rick visited, he received two cases of red and green chile. We're BIG fans of El Pinto!El Pinto Restaurant & Cantina, El Pinto’s Salsa and Green Chile Sauce are all a part of the El Pinto Family. The world famous and award-winning chile and family recipes are served at the famous El Pinto Restaurant. El Pinto was established in 1962 and has been featuring traditional recipes from our grandmother Josephina Chavez-Griggs ever since.

Nice to go around a town with someone who "owns" it. Kudos to Keith and for his kindness to us.
Yum! I think I will buy some of that salsa today.
