Sprinter

The Arizona girls didn't quite know what to make of this white stuff. They had a great time playing in it and tasting it. So sad for all the trees with blossoms on them. So many had broken limbs and were badly damaged. Weird, weird spring/winter, April 16.

Most of us are pretty average people. Yet none of us has average dreams--we have all wanted greatness in something, somewhere. When we first see Susan Boyle, she looks like us--average. We think she can't succeed, she doesn't fit the stereo type. She's beyond the years for achieving musical stardom. Yet this plucky lady, with great courage, shows all of us that nobody is average, and it is never too late to conquer a dream. When I cheer for Susan Boyle, I cheer for myself and every other "average" person, for our dreams and aspirations, and I feel just a little more inclined to follow them.

Check out this article in the DNews.

Anyway, check them out! They are both inspiring human interest stories and they will make you smile. Ordinary people doing extraordinary things! Plus it's great to hear the Brits speak.

Fab five web sites

I came across these fabulous web sites. You might be interested in checking them out:
1. Stumbleupon.com: Be prepared to waste every spare moment of your life on this. You create a profile of genres you are interested in (like art, humor, rock climbing, quilt making, etc.) and you simply push the "stumble" button on your browser toolbar and random web sites related to your profile pop up.
2. Projectplaylist.com: you can create song play lists for your personal Web site or just listen to your favorite songs for free. Unlike iTunes, you actually get to listen to the whole song and because you don't download anything, it's perfectly legal.
3. Earthalbum.com: Google Earth teamed up with Flickr to create a world map that as you scroll over a country, every photograph in Flickr's database that is tagged as being from that country comes up. It's like National Geographic times a million at the tip of your fingers. It was fascinating to do it over Ulaanbaatar Mongolia, Meridian Road in Rupert Idaho (with a half wheel line now watering our entire farm!) and Resistencia Argentina!
4. Guerrillamail.com: You know those web sites that make you give them your email address so they can send you junk mail for the rest of your life? Guerrilla mail generates email addresses that last for only 15 minutes, so you can use them to get registered and then let the junk mail disappear into cyberspace.
5. Ehow.com: Don't know how to eat a dragon fruit or how to select the right running shoe? Ehow will tell you. Endless how-to articles will teach you what you need to know from travel to business to sports and child care.

How He succors His people

Friday when Rick and I were waiting in the Provo temple chapel, we each picked up the scriptures and decided to randomly open them and point to a verse and then share it with each other.
Here is my verse: Alma 7:12 ~ And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.
Here is Rick's scripture: Isiah 53: 5 ~ But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
