First event - we opened our annual Christmas celebration with a performance of Handel’s “Messiah” sing-in under the direction of maestro Thierry Fischer at Abravanel Hall with Andy and Chelsea. It was one of the best performances that we've seen in all the years we've attended. The soloists were amazing.
Second event - BYU Celebration of Christmas A Celebration of Christmas presents the combined choirs and
orchestra of BYU in 19 tracks of Christmas mood and memory. A Celebration of Christmas
combines the spiritual, traditional, and international aspects of
Christmas into one joyous concert, with music as timeless as Christmas
itself.
We didn't enjoy the performance this year as much as we have in past years however. We went with Andy and Chelsea and Rick's mom Pat, and the our friends Rod and Patsy and Cydnee.
Third event - A Christmas Carol at Hale theater
We attended this year with Rick's mom Pat and enjoyed the production a lot. The message is always a good reminder about how to "keep Christmas well."
Fourth event - ELF at Pioneer Theater. Rick and I attended as part of our season tickets package. It was absolutely adorable! I wish we could have taken our grandchildren. Costumes, sets, music (yes, music) acting...everything was great.
Fifth event - Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert - wonderful! We enjoyed the performance last year more, but this one was very good. Chelsea had never attended before and she loved it. The best part was the organ solo by Richard Elliott. Wow! Thanks to Claire who got us the tickets this year.
Thanks for the recap, Vonnie. We have had a good time attending these concerts and plays, and hopefully, have had an infusion of the Christmas spirit as a result. Nice pictures and videos to go along with the post.
