It seems like that is old, but I know differently. It isn't. I can still get up and go. When I can't move, then I will be OLD. I'm pain free and feeling so blessed! My new knee is doing great and I feel like a forty year old!
Here is how it played out:
March 3
Rick surprised me with tickets to see the acapella group Pentatonix at the UVU center. We enjoyed the concert, but I would have enjoyed it more if they would have turned down the volume and let their beautiful vocals and harmony shine through. Such talented people, but I guess my age may be showing.
March 4
Went to lunch with a friend from work for my birthday. I also got to hear my darling girl Sofia (daughter of an Argentine mission companion) defend her thesis speaking English (not her native language) for her Master's degree. Awesome job!
March 5 - 60 years old!
My office pals treated me to banana cream pie (which I had for breakfast) and decorated my office.
Met Rick for lunch at Noodles & Co. He gave me a dozen beautiful red roses and a sweet letter.
Got ready to head out on my birthday adventure with my mom, sisters, daughter-in-law and nieces.
Headed to the fabulous home of my cousin Janis and her husband Corey for a birthday adventure
with Jamie, Madi and Mom, later joined by Lee, Jessica and Chelsea. She gave me the most beautiful pink and green flower bouquet. We all appreciated the kindness and generosity of Corey and Janis in letting us use their get-away home for this celebration.
Got settled, chatted, ate dinner, played games, sat in the hot tub
Just before turning in I read the amazing messages my kids posted on social media for my birthday and the other birthday wishes and had some tears of gratitude before falling asleep for my wonderful family and friends and for their love and support. Read some cards and letters people sent me, including my sweet husband. More overwhelming feels of gratitude and happiness. I'm so humbled by the kindnesses shown to me.
March 6
Went on a brisk morning walk with Lee and Jessica and chatted
Met Janet, Sydney and Tina for lunch at the Springville Trolley restaurant
Toured the Springville Art Museum
Returned back to the house, made an Easter craft provided by Margie, my super creative SIL
Lindsey, Rachel and Chelsea arrived
Enjoyed dinner, birthday strawberry shortcake and a Vonnie trivia game
More visiting and laughs
Back to the hot tub
March 7
Another long walk with lots of chatting
Make-up demonstration by Chelsea
Cleaned up, took pictures, departed
Lunch at the Thai Drift restaurant - Rick, Janis, Kathleen, Robin, Deborah, Kate and Pat joined the group, 19 in all, yummy lunch hosted by Rick, kind tributes shared by all (thank you everyone!)
Shopping afterwards at the Traverse Mountain Outlets
Watched three episodes of Downton Abbey season 1 with Chelsea who hasn't seen any! She's hooked!
March 8
Sunday birthday dinner at Andy and Chelsea's apartment. Enjoyed a delicious meal and a visit from cousin Rom and his new girlfriend.
I'm such a lucky 60 year old. I have my health, my family, the love of a good man and so many extended family members and friends who make my life so rich and enjoyable. I'm so happy and grateful.
